Our Farm
Raised on a few acres, not a factory floor.
HoneyLit began as a handful of hives at the edge of our garden. It's grown slowly, on purpose — we'd rather keep it small and do it right than scale it and lose the honey we love.
How it started
We set up our first two hives to help pollinate the garden. What came back that first autumn — a few jars of deep amber honey — tasted nothing like what we'd bought at the store. We added hives every year since, and never bought more than the land and the bees could support.
How we work the hives
Our colonies move with the bloom — meadow wildflower in early summer, clover and orchard blossom later on. We inspect by hand, harvest only what the hives can spare, and never feed sugar syrup to stretch a crop. Extraction is cold, and jars are filled the same week the frames come off the hive.
What We Believe
A few things we won't compromise on.
Raw, always
Nothing is heated past hive temperature, filtered fine, or blended with honey from anywhere else.
Bees first
We only take what the colony doesn't need to get through winter. Healthy hives come before big harvests.
Small, on purpose
We limit how many hives we keep so every one gets real attention — and every jar stays consistent.
